BDO OFFICES AROUND THE COUNTRY NAMED WINNERS OF ALFRED P. SLOAN AWARD FOR BUSINESS EXCELLENCE IN WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY
Chicago, IL - BDO, one of the nation’s leading professional service organizations, today announced that thirty-one of its offices have been named winners of the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility during the past year. Sloan awards are presented to companies that offer excellent workplace flexibility practices and use flexibility as a business tool to strategically enhance organizational effectiveness and benefit employees. The Sloan Awards are part of When Work Works, an ongoing initiative of the Families and Work Institute in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce and the Twiga Foundation, with funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

About the Alfred P. Sloan Award
Sloan Award applicants are evaluated using a rigorous two-step process. Employers complete a questionnaire about their flexibility and workplace practices, and are measured against national data from Families and Work Institute’s National Study of Employers. Companies ranking among the top 20 percent nationwide qualify for the next phase, in which employees fill out an online survey about their employer’s flexibility options. Award winners and honorable mentions are determined by their performance in both steps of the process.
