Executive Summary
Cathy joined BDO USA in July 2002 as a principal with significant experience assisting middle market clients.
She has guided her clients through public and private financing transactions, numerous IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, implementation of emerging accounting rules and a variety of business advisory matters, focused on the technology and life sciences industry.
Cathy previously served as the managing partner of BDO’s Boston assurance practice.
In July 2014, Cathy became the firm’s first Chief People Officer, taking oversight responsibility for the People & Culture function to ensure BDO’s policies and practices are consistent with its culture and true to its core purpose of helping people thrive every day. She also oversees the firm’s marketing and business development functions, ensuring BDO’s brand promise is well represented in its approach to the markets it serves.
In her role as Chief People Officer, Cathy has translated the firm’s vision and values into a course of action to build and sustain a strong corporate culture and create an atmosphere of trust. Working with CEO Wayne Berson and the rest of the executive team, she helped create a world-class, purpose-centered environment where people feel empowered to do their best work and be their best selves. To Cathy, culture is no longer a nice-to-have but rather a must-have and a key driver and competitive advantage for business. She believes investing in culture translates into equity for the firm, tangible value that leads to resilience even in challenging times.
