In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress has passed several pieces of legislation that created various relief funds to assist institutions of higher education in navigating the impact of COVID-19 to their campuses. The Department of Education established the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (“HEERF”), which has a unique set of compliance, auditing, and reporting requirements that must be met by the recipient.
