The General Services Administration (GSA) focuses on improving contractor compliance and performance by reviewing and potentially terminating contracts that do not meet sales requirements. This effort includes targeting contractors with non-compliance issues and low sales as well as using tools like the Suppliers' Compliance Scorecard to monitor performance. GSA aims to refine the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Program by eliminating underused contracts and focusing on products and services with high demand. To remain on the GSA MAS Program and avoid contract termination, contractors should take the following actions:
- Prioritize Meeting Sales Requirements: Aim to meet the minimum sales thresholds set by GSA. For the first five-year contract, this means selling at least $100,000, and for the second five-year option, at least $125,000 total.
- Identify Agency Customers: While having agency customers interested in your products or services is beneficial, it's important to view getting on the schedule as a strategic opportunity. This provides a pathway to sell over a five-year contract period, encouraging clients to leverage this opportunity for growth.
- Develop a Strategy: To effectively leverage the GSA schedule, create a comprehensive strategy based on market demand and position your offerings accordingly.
- Improve Compliance and Performance: Focus on regulatory compliance, timely delivery, and meeting other contractual requirements. Use tools like the Suppliers' Compliance Scorecard to monitor and enhance your performance.
- Participate in GSA Trainings: Take advantage of GSA's training programs to better understand how to use the schedule to your benefit and stay informed about any changes or updates.
