Jimmy Palik

Jimmy Palik is an Assurance Market Leader with extensive experience serving publicly traded, privately held and venture backed clients in the manufacturing and distribution, consumer products, building products, packaging, retail, life sciences and technology industries. In this role, Jimmy has led financial statement audits and advisory projects for publicly traded and privately held (PE-backed and family owned) companies, ranging from pre-revenue startups to a $20B revenue enterprise. 

As both a CPA and a CFA® charter-holder, Jimmy is frequently sought by his clients to assist with complex accounting, valuation and financial reporting matters. He works closely with clients to navigate complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and public and private debt offerings. Jimmy routinely evaluates complex valuation matters in areas such as business combinations, complex securities, intangible asset valuations, legal-entity restructurings, impairment testing, and share based valuations for private and public entities. Jimmy has coordinated auditing and accounting services in connection with numerous Section 144A bond offerings, working closely with client management, underwriter’s legal counsel, and banking institutions to ensure successful placements. He leverages proprietary audit applications for data-driven analytical techniques throughout the audit to deliver meaningful trend and correlation-based analyses to reduce or eliminate transactional-based testing effort and improve audit insights.  

Jimmy has developed and taught numerous CPE trainings and workshops at the request of clients on a variety of matters, including valuation techniques, business combinations, new revenue recognition standards, environmental obligation accounting and asset retirement obligations. Prior to working at BDO, Jimmy was an audit partner at a Big Four firm.
