John Rod

John is a principal in the firm’s Assurance Quality Management Group, providing leadership and oversight of the firm’s system of quality management, remediation, and root cause analysis.

Prior to joining BDO, John was an Associate Director in the PCAOB’s Division of Registration and Inspections (the Division). During John’s 18 years with the PCAOB, he led inspections of Big-4 firms, including their foreign affiliates, evaluated the sufficiency of remedial actions taken by firms to address quality control criticisms, oversaw inspections policy and methodology revisions, and served as the primary liaison for inspections-related consultations with other PCAOB divisions as well as the SEC’s Office of the Chief Accountant. Prior to joining the PCAOB in 2004, John worked in PwC’s audit practice for 14 years including 2 years in PwC’s national office.
