Thiru Govender

Thiru is an Assurance Practice Leader in BDO’s Tampa office. He has over 20 years of public accounting experience and has assisted clients in traditional initial Public Offerings and most recently, under regulations of the new JOBS Act. He primarily provides assurance services to multinational, privately held and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting companies in the healthcare, bio-pharmaceuticals, technology, manufacturing, distribution and retail industries.

Thiru works extensively with BDO International member firms and currently serves as the Head of BDO’s US/India Desk. His multinational experience includes clients with operations spanning countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. His responsibilities on international engagements have included continuous coordination of foreign statutory audits, as well as performance of US GAAP and SOX 404 procedures. Thiru has also hosted seminars on “Doing Business in the US” throughout India and Africa.

He has spent close to 20 years of his career with BDO. Prior to joining the firm’s Tampa office in 2015, Thiru also worked for BDO New York for 10 years and BDO Charlotte for seven years.
