Vishnu Patwari

In his current role, Vishnu is the National Managing Principal, BDO RISE and BDO USA. He is also a Board Member in BDO RISE. Vishnu has been instrumental right from the start, conceptualizing the idea and making it a reality, turning BDO RISE into what it is today. He led the BDO RISE initiative since inception and created a dedicated team of professionals serving all service lines (Assurance, Tax and Advisory) located in multiple different offices of BDO RISE. He gained a quick recognition as a strong leader by senior BDO US and India Partners, having established RISE as a BDO USA’s Center of Excellence, scaling up from zero to 2500+ employees in the short span to time.

Before moving back to India to lead RISE, Vishnu was an audit partner based in BDO’s San Francisco Office. He has more than 20+ years of professional experience serving several of complex alternative fund clients in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Dublin (Ireland), ranging from startup managers to multinational, multibillion dollar alternative investment firms. He has deep expertise in the asset management industry, serving corporate investment advisers, investment partnerships, venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds and fund of funds. He has also worked on a wide range of strategies and structures, including private equity and venture investments, long/short equity, fixed income, leveraged loans, multi-strategy, domestic LP/LLC, and Cayman based master-feeder / parallel fund platforms. Vishnu directed the audits of venture capital and private equity investment partnerships, ranging in size from seed stage to late stage /growth equity investing in industry niches from technology to life science. In addition to his client service role, Vishnu also served as a technical resource for practices. As a key member of BDO’s venture capital and private equity practice, he has been instrumental in the development of audit approach, training materials and audit tools.
